Description:

The kukri is the renowned national weapon of Nepal and the Gurkhas, an elite Nepalese Brigade of the British Army. The kukri is a long, curved knife that is deadly in the hands of the Gurkhas. They generally measure between 12 and 18 inches in length, and this particular kukri is 15 inches long. The stainless steel blade measures approximately 10 inches long, and has a rat-tail tang. Kukri blades always feature a notch called the kaura, which is essentially a Hindu religious and phallic symbol.

The wood handle is nicely polished and has brass accents. This is a finely constructed weapon, and has a solid, heavy feel. It comes sharpened to a razors edge and has a genuine leather sheath to house it in.

Features:

martial-arts-knives

4Excellent MacheteDec 30, 2009
I just got back from a failed 4 day camping trip in which almost nothing went right. The trail was soggy and damp, my back pack was disintegrating and a fire couldn't be started. Combine that with a rapidly dying phone and a dead iPod and you've got yourself a horrible time. But what really brightened the trip and performed well was this blade.

Multiple times we would come across a wide expanse of sitting water on the trail and would be forced to forge a new path around it. With this blade, I could cut through brush and branches up to 1 inch in thickness. With a little effort, I could push it farther. However, while it served well as a machete, I would not use it as such. Machete's have a much longer blade and would service better, but for its weight, and compactability, a definite recommendation. It also served well at cutting wood for kindling. All in all, a good purchase for a happy camper. And even if you don't camp, its an excellent intimidation factor.

This thing is pretty damn cool. It isn't the sharpest thing in the world, but it definitely held up to it's name and came with a waist sheath. My only real complaint is that the handle isn't made from wood. And while it would make sense if is was more than $11 or so for the handle to be wood, it's made out of something that seems like stylized plastic. I didn't really spend much time playing with it before I gave it to it's intended person, but if you are looking around for a Kukri, and don't want to pay allot, and still have something really cool, this is your item.

This is an amazing product for the price. Holds an edge and does it while being a beautiful addition to any knife collection.

This is a cheap, thin-bladed, mass-produced wannabe khukuri with a stainless steel blade. I actually think it'd make an OK machete, and you're paying machete prices for this thing. Set your expectations accordingly, and you probably won't be disappointed like I was. I figured it was too good to be true, given the price. On the other hand, the seller, RockBottomDeals is very good.

This is a very pretty knife to behold, but I cannot imagine it holding up to hard use. The blade is very thin and light, and I can somewhat bend it slightly in my hands, although I am not very strong. It might suffice for very light work, but would probably work best as a display piece, as it is very nice to look at.
